… and before I continue, that’s not the correct way to spell honorary, even in Canada, ‘Eh!”
Many, many years ago, I was at an industry trade show, maybe it was a sales meeting or maybe something else entirely in Winnipeg Manitoba. I don’t recall the show, meeting or the subject matter but I do remember how my group found a restaurant on the first day of the conference, meeting or whatever it was?
My brain seems to store the funny stuff which ultimately is the most important.
A small group of us gathered in the lobby of the hotel in which we were staying, there were four or five in our group and one of us went to the front desk seeking the names of restaurants in the area. He returned to our assemblage and shared the name. Again, I have no idea what the name of the restaurant was. Let’s just say it was called “Fred’s Finest Fish Fry House”.
We all headed to the front door, a taxi was waiting and we all climbed in.
Taxi Driver: “Where to fellas?”
One of us: “Fred’s Finest Fish Fry House please”
Much to our chagrin, the taxi driver started the car, looked over his left shoulder, pulled away from the curb and did a simple U-Turn and then parked in front of Fred’s Finest Fish Fry House. He then said with a smile $2.75 please!
This could happen to anyone! Right?
