Back in the late eighties, we lived in Saint Charles, Illinois, and our daughters attended Saint Charles High School. Amy, our elder kid was in AP History and on one particular day, the teacher was introducing her class to the Korean War. Amy came home that day to tell us about a funny happening that day.
Amy’s friends were all aware that she was a Canuck and from time to time, they would pull her chain about her Canadianship.
During his introduction to the lesson, he listed all of the countries that were involved with the Korean War. It is reported that he said that the Canadian military entered the war after the USA. One of Amy’s friends interjected, “Sorry we’re late Eh! but the moose had to swim.”
